The Wizard of Oz

Magic wand

I dedicate this post to you, the person researching the site to learn about me, and to the aspiring coaches out there. Over the pages of my blog, I will explain the process I went through when studying to become a life coach, the connection between education and life coaching and why I believe it is a winning combination. I hope that you will be inspired. I believe that the more coaches there are in the world, the closer we get to a better world.

When the Children Cry

I met Amir this year when we both worked for the “together for humanity” organization in Australia. He had black skin and spoke broken English. In the presentation we did together, he told the kids he was from Africa. It is amazing, but most of us in the organization are either educators or social workers. Amir was only in his first year of study for his Social Work degree. As part of the program, he talked to the kids about being “black” and suffering for it. I did not know quite what he meant when he said “suffering”.

Ghost Whisperer

Just in case you have never seen Ghost Whisperer, this is a TV series about a young woman who can see and talk to ghosts, and helps them cross over by getting closure. In each episode, Melinda is approached by a ghost and helps it communicate with loved ones, revisit places and events and find peace. Once the ghost has settled its affairs, it sees a beautiful bright light and happily walks towards it. But why wait until after death? Why not learn how to get closure right now?

Aren’t We Lucky?

A couple of weeks ago, there was a special event at Southbank, the park along the Brisbane River. Among other things, there was a large enclosure, where an organization called Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) showed a model of a refugee camp and took groups of people on guided tours. The line before the gate of the model refugee camp was very long, but we decided to wait.

60 Tips for a Happy Marriage

Couple kissing in the snow

A happy marriage is just like a healthy plant. If you give the plant water, sun and air, it blossoms. A marriage requires an equal amount of nurturing if it is to blossom. As much as it is hard to accept, a nice wedding and the good intentions you have to stay together forever are not enough to produce a successful, happy marriage. The excitement and joy that newly-wed couples often experience tend to wear off within the first year of marriage and so, if you want to celebrate your 50th anniversary with your partner one day, you both need to make a conscious decision to “water” your relationship.

Kids with Learning Difficulties

Be Special Be Yourself for Teenagers by Ronit Baras

Luke was definitely not a regular kid and his mom was going nowhere with her attempts to help to him. Since birth, he had had physical problems that only increased the family’s frustration and when his brother had been born, the extra attention Luke had received from his mom had made things worst. He had acquired one more enemies. When Luke had reached his teen years, things had gotten out of control and the family had been on the verge of nervous breakdown.

What is This "Secret" Nonsense?

Some time ago, we visited our good friend Neil, who is married for the second time and lives far away from his son from the first marriage Nathan. Neil had last seen Nathan 11 years before. He had some Photos of Nathan in an album created by his younger son Ben. When Neil had said goodbye his son and moved to another country, Nathan was just 9 years old.

Just a Little Bit of Gray Hair

While on our long vacation recently, I managed to organize a reunion of my high school friends. We got together with our partners and kids for an afternoon picnic, after 25 years apart.

When Your Mom is a Chef

When I tell people my mom is a chef, they look at me in respect. It is natural. As a daughter to a chef, people think you have the advantage of knowing all the trade secrets. In the old days, knowledge went from parents to children and special knowledge in cooking was a woman’s way of finding a match. My mom always said to me that the way to a man’s heart was through his belly. This worked well for her, because my dad loves her cooking.

Happiness Has No Address

Traveling is a great way to expend your internal world. In search of happiness, traveling is a good way to realize that happiness has no address. You only need to open your door and leave your comfort zone to find out you are carrying the whole world with you in your thoughts, your mindset and your actions.
