A Lesson in Proportion

Sometimes, the things we expect the least – both good and bad – can teach us the best lessons in life. Last month, I said to a group of 26 child leaders that in many things of our life, the important thing is not what others give us, but what we choose to take. When I said that, I did not consider the possibility of taking a lesson from others without any intention on their part.

Two weeks ago, we learned a very valuable lesson from a good friend of ours. Tom, our friend, had never planned on giving us this lesson. In fact, if it was up to him, I think he would gladly not teach us this lesson at all because of the heavy price he had to pay for it.

I hope that when you read this story, you will choose to take as much as possible from it. Remember, it is not about what I write, but what you choose to receive.

My Psychic Mom (6)

This happened to me at a huge cultural festival. We had had a hectic week preparing for the festival, with many last-minute notices and a low budget. The weather seemed very threatening – the rain in the previous week had destroyed the entire weekend for an environmental festival, washing away a whole year of hard work. It was still raining heavily and the thought of our work going down the drain was unbearable.

Happy Friday the 13th

Unlike what the title suggests, most people in the world believe that Friday the 13th is a scary combination. Most people believe that if the 13th falls on Friday, bad things will happen. Believe it or not, believing in it makes it true.

Fearless Living

Every human being is delivered from a warm, dark, quiet and completely safe environment into the ever changing, sometimes rough world. Most modern babies’ first experience outside their mother is a bright light in a cold room, being shaken (although not stirred) and handled by many hands. Imagine the fear in the little creature! Some people think this is so traumatic it must be cleared from the psyche to ensure emotional health.

Why You Should Not Ask "Why"

Sometimes, our expectations are not fulfilled and our immediate response is to find the reason. So we start asking “why” in an attempt to bring order back into our world, but this can get us in trouble if we do not keep our focus positive.

Irrational Rules of Living – The Power of the Past

What happened in the past has a great effect on our present. We take our experiences from what happened to us and add them to the bank of beliefs, thoughts and attitudes in our life. Sometimes, we place too much importance on past events and allow them to stop us from getting on with life.

Just Do It!

We all have more power than we think, but to realize this power, we must often use it first and see the results later. We keep ourselves weak as long as we do not act and only when we take action do we create this power.

What is This "Secret" Nonsense?

Some time ago, we visited our good friend Neil, who is married for the second time and lives far away from his son from the first marriage Nathan. Neil had last seen Nathan 11 years before. He had some Photos of Nathan in an album created by his younger son Ben. When Neil had said goodbye his son and moved to another country, Nathan was just 9 years old.

Who Needs Technology Anyway?

We went to sleep late at night in our room at the guesthouse in Thailand. The street was full of tourists and we wondered how on Earth we were going to wake up at 4:30am to prepare for our flight back home. We could set our hand watches, but I knew that my internal clock would do the job. I only needed to look at my watch before I closed my eyes, see the time and tell myself to wake up on time.

Law of Attraction Tip I Personally Got from Bob Proctor

Bob Proctor talks about the Law of Attraction

It was one of those ads on the Internet that I thought was strange. A free invitation for an evening with Bob Proctor on the Law of Attraction. You can imagine the excitement I felt. You see, Bob Proctor is one of the inspiring people I had chosen to learn from, and the Law of Attraction was on everyone’s mind.

At that stage, when the Internet invitation arrived, I did not know just how much I would learn from him.

Gal and I registered ourselves immediately and sent the invitation to friends, encouraging them to join us. Seeing Bob Proctor 10 minutes away from us, in a hotel, at no cost, was not something we could imagine happening every day. Two of our friends, who live about 2 hours’ drive from us, registered themselves too, and so we made plans to go together.
