Last time, I wrote about the conflict between the two minds – the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Confusion is a big sign of the war between the two minds and getting to know ourselves is a good way to find balance, self esteem and happiness.
The “if” part of the interview with myself deals with our most precious desires to love, to be loved, to have control, power, stability, success and self esteem. It is very important for us to be honest with ourselves and discover what we want in life.
Wanting is a great tool for finding happiness. Unlike theories saying that “not wanting” is the best way to eliminate suffering in the world, I believe that wanting and going after what you want is the best way to bring happiness to the world.
For both parts of the mind to get to know each other, use your top part of the iceberg to ask the bottom part what it would like to do in various situations and allow your subconscious to answer freely.
Interview Rules
Here are reminders of the interview rules:
- Do it with yourself – you do not want to add challenges to your interview by revealing yourself to another person.
- Write everything down – it will help you to go over it couple of times before you finalize your thoughts. Writing will allow you to go over it in a year or two and discover how much you have changed. If writing by hand is not for you, use the computer. If recording the interview appeals to you, record it.
- Be honest with yourself – you do not need to impress anyone and that is how you will get the best results.
- There are no right and wrong answers – do not look for something that you “should” be thinking. The only thing you should be is yourself!
- Some questions have more than one answer – you do not have to stick to one. If there are more, write them all down.
- Go wild!

Remember, you are in search for who you are, attempting to settle the war between the two parts of your mind, the conscious and the subconscious.
Join me in two weeks for the third part of Interview with Myself – What do I think? Knowing what you think about various topics can bring lots of clarity into your life. You will be surprised to discover that you do not have a set, well thought out idea about many topics, which may cause you confusion and pressure and hurt your self esteem.
Until next time, enjoy your interview with yourself and I hope you find happiness in many of your answers.
Blessings of happiness,
Ronit
