I have been working with children all my life. I think they have some wisdom that fades over the years. This is “thanks” to the education system, which teaches kids to ignore their intuitive wisdom and focus on memorizing, analyzing and following external rules. I always see my students as my greatest teachers, because they teach me what I once knew and forgot.
Children live from the heart. When they do something, they do it with every cell in their body. When they are happy, they are happy with every cell in their body. When they are sad, it is heartbreaking to watch them.
My own children have made it easy for me to examine this purity, which is later lost. I have three of them, and they are totally different. Although they are 6 years apart in age, it was easy to notice that inside, they all had a free spirit and used their intuitive wisdom to guide them. When they played, they played with all their senses. They were not afraid to be silly or loud. When they ate, they never counted calories and I could see the satisfaction on their face when food smeared all over it. I have hundreds of photos of them eating with a mess and looking very happy.
This makes me wonder, “What do kids know that we don’t?”
Our Natural GPS
Throughout life, we are in a continuous search for a tool to navigate towards a happy, healthy and successful life. We look for rules to make sure we drive safely in this life.
Think of life as the globe, with many roads, and of us as travelers, driving a car and exploring its treasures. We have our body and mind in the car and we have a programmed GPS. This GPS is not angry when we make mistakes. It just keeps searching for the shortest and safest way to reach our destination.
Unfortunately, our society and the education system are not teaching children how to use this GPS, but to ignore it. Over years of schooling, we prefer logic and we learn to ignore the inner voice that is our intuition, our sophisticated GPS, and follow external rules that change over time, which often fulfill other people’s needs at our expense. The thing we lose mostly in this process is trust in ourselves!
What Does Your Gut Tell You?
It is possible to learn how to trust your gut feelings. There is a lot of research on the power of intuition. Reading biographies of the most successful people in the world reveals that their main successes and breakthroughs came from listening to an inner voice that told them to do things differently, even when other challenged their ideas.
This self-trust takes us to the people, resources and circumstances that help us navigate the world better. I think this trust is the faith that we are on the right track and we just have to keep going.
I discovered this self-trust at the age of 16. My life was a mess and I was kicked out of school at the end of 10th grade. I started a deep soul search and examined the way I thought and how I navigated the world. I discovered I was hopelessly trying to use my parents, my teachers, my friends and the media as my GPS.
I realized I had to use my own GPS, because only it knew me, so I had to turn it on. It only took about two months and my life was very different afterwards. I redid some exams, convinced my school to let me continue. In 11th grade, I received a scholarship for excellence, I was chosen to take part in a youth delegation for peace and I became a school captain.
The Intuitive Child Global Summit
Recently, I took part in a special online TV show called The Intuitive Child: Nurturing The Inner Wisdom Within, hosted by Abby Gooch, the founder of Life Force Connection. Abby is an intuitive coach who helps her clients listen to, trust and act on the guidance their intuition provides. This TV show is free and you can get a complimentary pass by registering yourself.
On the show, Abby interviews experts who share their inspiring ways to listen to their inner wisdom. Just reading about the speakers is inspiring in itself. When the show goes on air, you will get access to a new episode with a different speaker each day. You can listen to it on the day, or listen later to a recording.
I was very happy an honored to take part in this global summit. In it, I share my own work with children and with adults searching for this inner GPS and find the things they once knew.
Abby has just launched One Heart, which is a global organization raising funds for children to have a home of love and safety. She wants to build an orphanage/retreat center to support children and adults, who wish to develop their intuition, to activate their gifts and change our world. I think it is an amazing goal and I hope to help make it happen.
I encourage you to register for this event. It is FREE and there are lots of tips and suggestions from experts on how to tap into your inner voice and turn on your GPS, update it and follow it to a happy, healthy and successful life.
So register for free and send this post to any friends and family members who are confused, struggling and looking for guidance. This guidance is inside. We only need to tap into it and trust it to lead us towards our destination.
May the force be with you!
