In the race of life, we all run forward. Some of us travel light and some have a heavier weight to carry.
It was almost 18 years ago, when my daughter Eden was about 2 years old. She was a big, heavy baby and I used to carry her on my back everywhere we went. One day, on my way to her family day care, and old couple walked towards me.
“Why aren’t you using a stroller? She is a heavy baby. How can you carry her like this?” the old woman asked in a surprised tone. I smiled, wondering how to reply, when the old man said to his wife, “She is carrying her with her love”.
This week, I received this inspiring movie about a father, who participated in the “Iron Man” (triathlon) competition with his son. I watched it with tears of inspiration, tears of excitement and joy for the glory of parenting and the essence of love. Love can help us carry heavy loads and push through enormous difficulties, and then it can inspire others too.
When you finish watching the inspiring Dick and Rick Hoyt, watch their inspiring race together.
May you appreciate what you have in life.
May love help you carry on.
Love is all we need!
Ronit
