Do you mean that when we recognize the guilt and self blame we come closer to true self acceptance?
I think it does bring us closer as we are aware of our feelings and actions but I don't think it is good enough. We need to let go of such feelings and get them out of our dictionary. Byron Katie calls them "arguing with life". Expecting something something from yourself is and feeling guilty for not achieving it is like punishing yourself for not being accurate with your expectation - guess. After all, we are not fortune tellers and we guess the outcome of every decision of our life. Guilt is double punishment for not being a perfect fortune teller. No one is, give it up!

The picture book story of Hur-Ray encouraging Kiddazy to grow into a flower and get a YYOL face (just like Hur-Ray’s) confirms that it is only after Kiddazy cheers on the other sprouts in a “pay it forward” fashion, does the understanding that it is in the cheering on of others, lies Kiddazy’s own self-esteem, and YYOL is actualized.

Therefore the theme of YYOL which helps the child realize the “cheer” leader lies within.
