This is a very important point. We don't need to help them just for the sake of having a good mark, we teach them an important skill to handle tasks in the future.
I know many people that were very good students in school and never did their homework but when they reached university they didn't have the skills to manage their time or sit and do their homework and they failed big time. The worst thing was what they thought about themselves. They had high expectations of sitting for a test and remembering it all but it wasn't enough and most of them blame their parents and teachers for not insisting on doing their homework. ( I think they find it hard to take some responsibility over it)
Happy day

This was a mistake, helping your kid with their homework isn't just about helping them do that piece, it's about helping them get into a routine of doing it and understanding how important it is.

My parents never got involved in my homework - I think they just trusted me to get on with it by myself.
